HorseSense and the Charmant Hotel are partnering together in celebration of the 146th Kentucky Derby by offering specialty Mint Julep Cocktail Kits for sale. 

The kits include two specialty etched highball glasses commemorating the “Kentucky Derby Watch At-Home Party” and ingredients to make two Mint Julep cocktails, the official drink of the Kentucky Derby. Proceeds benefit HorseSense, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons to youth, adults and military Veterans with disabilities in our community, and the Charmant, a local four-diamond luxury boutique hotel. 

HorseSense and the Charmant look forward to celebrating the horse race together every year during the annual Kentucky Derby Watch Party. In order to keep the community safe during COVID-19; however, the duo created the specialty Mint Julep Cocktail Kits for supporters to purchase and enjoy at home on race-day this year instead.

HorseSense is also offering a Kentucky Derby Hat Decorating Contest for the public to take part in as well. Participants are invited to email photos of their decorated hat to HorseSense at info@horsesensewi.org for social media to judge September 5 (race day) through September 7. The photo with the most “likes” on Facebook will win a special gift basket from the Charmant, which includes one free night stay among other valued items.
