HorseSense is excited to announce our plans for the 2021 season of therapeutic horseback riding lessons. Although our organization has experienced tremendous hardships as a result of COVID-19, HorseSense continues to persevere against all odds—and that’s only because of your amazing support and generosity. Thank you so very much!

HorseSense has been diligently monitoring and following the Coronavirus pandemic since the outbreak first reached our community last year. We’ve adapted our program in response to the virus in order to assure the continued safety of everyone involved with our program.

Plans for this year will mirror our re-opening strategies last year. But with more experience and time under our belts, we’re hopeful to increase our ridership and help even more youth, adults and Veterans in need during this unprecedented time.

Here’s what you can expect in 2021:

  • HorseSense will resume lessons March 15, 2021. Lessons will be offered throughout the year on a weekly basis. Our last week of lessons will be November 15, 2021. (HorseSense is not able to offer lessons during the winter months because of inclement weather conditions.)

  • Lessons will be offered in monthly phases once again, as opposed to our traditional seasonal sessions. This approach allows our organization much-needed flexibility to make changes to our program as new information about COVID-19 is released.

  • HorseSense will begin the 2021 season working mainly with independent riders who need little to no support in the saddle. Our intent is to slowly increase our ridership throughout the year to accommodate more individuals who do require hand-on support.

  • Only private lessons will be offered this Spring, unless two eligible riders come from the same household. We intend on incorporating group lessons back into our program this Summer, beginning with a maximum of two individuals per group lesson.

  • HorseSense will utilize the support of volunteers during lessons as needed.

  • Sanitation and safety practices recommended by the CDC will be implemented throughout lessons to assure a clean and protected environment for riding.

HorseSense continues to monitor the Coronavirus closely. We are eager to help as many riders as we can; however, it is vital that we do our part in assuring everyone’s safety at HorseSense by carrying out lessons with careful caution. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

If you’re interested in riding with us during future phases, please call 608-518-5356 or email info@horsesensewi.org and we’ll be sure to keep you informed about when a good, safe time would be for you to get enrolled.

Thank you so much for your patience, support and understanding during this difficult time.
